1. Los Lonely Boys & Los Lobos

Teaming up for "The Brotherhood Tour," Los Lonely Boys (right) and Los Lobos are set to deliver anight of south-of-the-border-influenced rock. Los Lobos came out of East L.A. and gainedprominence with the release of 1984's "How Will the Wolf Survive?" Los Lonely Boys won audienceswith their 2004 single "Heaven." The trio of Texas-born brothers released their latest album,"Forgiven," in July.

2. Tapes 'N Tapes w/ Win With Willard & The Broderick

The phenomenon of the "blog band" is relatively new. Blog bands are those fortunate groups thatfirst catch the ear of music bloggers and springboard on to larger success. Tapes 'N Tapes gotsuch a boost and is now a heralded up-and-coming indie rock act. Compared favorably to indielegends the Pixies and Pavement, the Minneapolis-based group's sound ranges from bluesy guitarrock to a more quirky lo-fi style.

3. 'A Prairie Home Companion'

7:30 p.m. Aug. 13, $34 and $39, Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St., www.in.gov/statefair/fair.

The long-running public-radio show returns to the State Fair on its "Live Rhubarb Tour." Theconcert re-creates the radio broadcast, complete with the music and humor that define the show.Host Garrison Keillor describes it as "the show I'd do if I could only do one more show."

4. Daughtry w/ Virgin Millionaires

Chris Daughtry proved you don't have to win "American Idol" to be a successful singer. Heparlayed his fourth-place finish into chart-topping success as frontman for his self-named band.Indy's own rock-stars-in-training, Virgin Millionaires, look to win over new fans in the openingslot.

5. Amos Lee w/ Dayna Kurtz

Amos Lee's music reveals touches of soul ballads, country folk, acoustic jazz, andstraightforward pop. It's no wonder he's earned critical comparison to artists ranging from JohnPrine to Bill Withers and has toured with Bob Dylan and Merle Haggard. 6. Grace Potter & the Nocturnals w/ Pennycuff & Win With Willard

Singer Grace Potter fronts her backing band The Nocturnals from behind guitars, the Hammond organand electric piano. No matter her instrument of choice, the group delivers a soul- andblues-influenced version of pop that's earned comparisons to Norah Jones and Bonnie Raitt.

7. Carrie Underwood with Keith Anderson

With more than 10 million albums sold, a dozen hit singles, and multiple Grammys under her belt,Carrie Underwood has a strong claim as most successful "American Idol" winner. The artistnaturally gravitated toward country, but has had success on the pop charts as well. Along the wayshe's also reached the level of celebrity where her dating habits are front-page tabloid news.

8. Roy Clark

We can't explain it. Maybe our Top 10 Live voters were overcome by some odd "Hee Haw" nostalgia.Maybe they felt this list needed a solid infusion of good, clean, Branson, Mo.,-approvedentertainment. Whatever the reason, Roy Clark scores a slot this week. The country musician is aswell-known for his cornball TV comedy roles as his virtuoso musicianship on guitar and banjo.

9. Robert Cray

8:30 p.m. Aug. 11, $27, Music Mill, 3720 E. 82nd St., (317) 841-1850.

Along with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray infused life into the blues guitar in the 1980s.Inspired by John Lee Hooker and Albert Collins, Cray made his biggest impact with his 1986 album"Strong Persuader" and its hit single, "Smokin' Gun." Cray's career also has one little-knowntrivia footnote: He had an uncredited role in "Animal House" as the bassist for Otis Day and theKnights.

10. Mayhem Festival with Slipknot and Disturbed

2 p.m. Aug. 13, $25.25-$49.75, Verizon Wireless Music Center, 12800 E. 146th St., Noblesville, (317) 776-8181.

With local high schools back in session, don't be shocked to see carloads of kids hightailing itout of school parking lots to head to this show as soon as the day's final bell rings. Thethree-stage, 14-band event features bands that live on the extreme side of heavy metal. Slipknot,Disturbed, DragonForce and Mastodon share the bill on the main stage.
